Roth, 70, was TV trailblazer

Hall of Famer Mark Roth, the kingpin of pro bowling in its heyday, died of congestive heart failure at age 70. One of the PBA Tour’s first TV stars, Roth still holds the record for wins in a single season (eight) and is the only right-hander to convert a 7-10 split in a televised event.
