Slalom winner rallies from 29th
Norway’s Lucas Braathen raced from 29th place after the first run to a stunning win at a World Cup slalom in Wengen, Switzerland. It was the largest jump from one run to the next in more than 20 years. Braathen sat in the finish-area leader’s box for 45 minutes and finally won when the last skier, teammate Henrik Kristoffersen, straddled a gate within sight of a clear victory. Braathen was 0.22 seconds ahead of Daniel Yule of Switzerland. Giuliano Razzoli of Italy, was 0.29 back in third for his best result in six years at age 37.
