Canadian flag was co-opted by selfishness

After ‘Freedom Convoy,’ Canadian flag has taken on new meaning for some this year, June 30

The Canadian flag was, for me, the last unifying, unabashedly Canadian symbol I had left.

For years I have put up with the uncomfortableness of listening to the anthem with its “God keep our land” and the preamble to the Charter “that recognize(s) the supremacy of God.”

Now, the flag too has been coopted by selfishness and anger. This Canada Day will not be the same for me.
