CANADA WINS FINAL TUNEUP

Canada scored three unanswered goals in the first period and went on to defeat Sweden 4-3 Monday night in the final exhibition game before the world junior men’s hockey championship at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Nathan Gaucher, Mason McTavish, Kent Johnson and Joshua Roy scored for the Canadians. Dylan Garand started in net for Canada and stopped all 15 shots he faced. Sebastian Cossa saved eight of 11 in relief. Canada opens the tournament Wednesday against Latvia.
