If the Leafs’ faith in Ilya Samsonov and Matt Murray isn’t rewarded, they still have Erik Källgren, whose body of work last year (8-4-1) helped when Jack Campbell and Petr Mrázek were hurt or struggling. “He’s sort of the forgotten guy,” coach Sheldon Keefe said of Källgren, “but he’s a guy who came in and played really well for us last season at times ... We haven’t forgotten about him. A third guy is important. Because of his experience last year, he’s pushing.” Goalie Joseph Woll remains out with a shoulder injury. Dylan Ferguson, a former Vegas Golden Knight, is in camp on a pro tryout. Keith Petruzzelli and Dryden McKay are also in the mix.
