CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH CHARLES JENKINS

Christopher passed unexpectedly on Sunday, November 27, 2022, in Simcoe, Ontario, at the age of 64 (or as he always said, 29 with 35 years of experience). Predeceased by his parents, Alfred Hunter and Beverley Jenkins (Halloway). Survived by his daughters, Catherine and Kristy, and their mother, Merle MacDonald. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexus, Kyra; and greatgrandchild, Kairi. He will be deeply missed by his godson, Christopher (Danielle) Taillon, and children, Malcolm and Christian. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Clerk, Suzan, Je ery (Linda Hartin), Edward, Terry-Lynn Fullager; his sisters-in-law, Betty Jenkins and Elaine Jenkins; and by seven nieces, eight nephews, eight great-nieces, and eleven great-nephews. Predeceased by his brothers, Terry Boyko, Michael Jenkins, Frank McGregor, Jesse Jenkins; his nephews, Michael Jr. and Mathew Boudreau; and brother-in-law, Danny Fullager. To many he was known as a son, uncle, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather; he had been a husband and a friend to many. He also held many other titles too, like role model, father gure, superhero, idol, and of course, never late for dinner. He ran away and joined the carnival at fteen, where he became a barker and where he met his wife and the mother of his children. They were married on the ferris wheel in Red River in 1977, she was 18 and he was 19, making national television and newspapers. He was there when needed, knew the importance of family, and always tried to do the right thing. His black belt was a big achievement to him, he relished in the fact he could still do the splits at 64. Chris worked for 31 years at the Toronto Star and worked his way up to Set-Up Press Operator. He helped raise millions for the United Way while working for the Star, where met many sports stars through the years that contributed to his collection of autographs. He retired early, at the age of 54. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, art, and playing the lotto max everywhere. He loved old buildings and treasure hunting. He was always there to help, especially with the kids, being young at heart himself. With all his greatness he had some demons, he was very proud of over coming one of his biggest ones, having 31 years of sobriety through NA. His laugh, his quick wit, his thirst for knowledge, and love of singing will be missed by many. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Branch #79 of the Royal Canadian Legion, 200 West Street, Simcoe, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with cremation following. Serenity Burial & Cremation Services Inc., 361 Main Street, Port Dover, (226) 290-9093, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Chris' name are asked to consider a charity of one's choice. Online condolences can be left at: www.serenityburialandcremation.com
