KYPER’S KORNER

Will be interesting to see how desperate the Vancouver Canucks are to trade Brock Boeser. Multiple sources suggest to me Jim Rutherford will have a tough time trading Boeser without withholding 20 to 30 per cent of his contract, which still has this season and next at $6.65 million (U.S.). Acquiring Boeser at around $4.5 million on the cap makes him a lot more attractive … The Calgary Flames are shopping for a top-six forward and have been linked to Boeser. Would Calgary take his full contract for Milan Lucic’s expiring one? Lucic is making $6 million this season … No question the Oilers are missing Evander Kane. There’s some talk the wrist injury and subsequent surgery he required after being cut by a skate is healing faster than expected, but still expect a four- to sixmonth timeline … What’s with all the rib/ oblique injuries we’ve heard about this early in the season? John Tavares, Patrik Laine, T.J. Brodie, Wade Allison and now Nathan MacKinnon.
