LIONEL CONACHER – CANADA’S GREATEST ALL-AROUND ATHLETE
Lionel Conacher (1900-1954) was reputedly the greatest allround athlete Canada has ever produced, excelling in boxing, football and Hockey Hall of Famer, winning two Stanley Cups. In 1937, Conacher retired from professional sports and after a stint in the Armed Forces, became a Member of Parliament.
