Professor Rhonda McEwen says that communication tools like ChatGPT still need the thinking skills and “humanity of people.”

Alot of this depends on the techies who create the AI. Facebook, Twitter and other social media promised to weed out toxic, hate-filled, threatening expressions, but women in particular have suffered the brunt of these attacks more than ever.

How will AI journalistic writing be slanted? From the point of view of the news agencies or owners? Will dissent ever be tolerated?

There are many ethical questions for society and education in particular. It is one thing to game the education system by having a computer write your essay, but how will these students function in society afterward, if they rely solely on AI writing? Diane Sullivan, Toronto
