Andreescu tore ankle ligaments

Mississauga tennis star Bianca Andreescu, who left Monday night’s match at the Miami Open in a wheelchair after suffering an injury in the second set, suffered two torn ligaments in her left ankle. On Twitter, Andreescu said she had already begun injury rehab and the injury “could have been much worse … I am optimistic that with the right work, rehab and preparation, I’ll be back on the court soon.” She is expected to miss Canada’s Billie Jean King Cup tie against Belgium, starting April 14 in Vancouver.
