Premier’s budget does little for ‘the little guy’
An Ontario budget without vision, Editorial, March 26
Hurray! Premier Doug Ford has introduced the largest spending budget to date.
He’s “putting more money back in your pocket,” but what if you don’t have money to pay out in order to put back? Once again, he’s abandoned “the little guy”; the person working minimum wage, struggling to pay for ever-increasing essentials like housing and food.
It’s the “little” person with no health-care benefits (like paid sick days) who won’t get money to put in their pocket when a day’s pay is lost due to illness or is forced through financial necessity to work and spread their sickness to others. High inflation has affected all of us, but the working poor much more.
When, Premier Ford, will you put forth a budget to truly help “the little guy?”
