Toronto’s Michelle Li won Canada's final medal at the Commonwealth Games, silver in badminton just hours before the closing ceremony in Birmingham, England. Li lost to India’s Venkata Sindhu Pusarla in the final. Canada finished with 92 medals — third overall behind Australia (178) and England (176) and up from 82 at the last Games. It was their highest total since 2002, when they won 117 medals in Manchester. Squash silver medallist Hollie Naughton carried Canada's flag into the closing ceremony.
